Caudo event celebrates
CAUDO Vineyard celebrated the
coming of summer and its new
sangria with a two-day Halloween
event on the weekend.
More than 500 people attended Wake the
Dead, which paid tribute to Mexico's Day
of the Dead, when sangria is traditionally
Vineyard supervisor and sangria
creator Zac Caudo said he received
positive feedback from attendees.
"It was fantastic and really well
received," he said.
"There was a huge positive vibe during
both of the days.
"The entertainment was great -- we had
a good mix of cover bands and DJs."
The event began on Saturday with
wakeboard demonstrations and live
music, and ended with live acoustic music
Mr Caudo said locals had the
opportunity to see professional
wakeboarders in action.
"The tricks they were able to do on the
kicker and rail was amazing," he said.
"I was really happy with the amount
of people there, but I think the weather
scared a few people away, especially a few
coming from Adelaide."
The event offered attendees the chance
to try out the newest wakeboarding gear
from Ronix and the opportunity to ride in
Malibu's newest boat, the 22MXZ.
Mr Caudo said more than 100 people
took advantage of free camping at the
"I think we will turn it into an annual
event because it went so well," he said.
"I would encourage locals to next
time utilise the chance to talk to the
professional wakeboarders and try out
the newest gear.
"It is pretty rare that companies let you
try the gear before buying it."
Mr Caudo thanked everyone who
attended and supported the event.
"Without the support from people, we
can't run events like this," he said.
"The party on Saturday night was
"We had a diverse range of people
attend, including Chinese visitors who
were in the area looking at local tourism
