based at the Waikerie Works Depot.
Remuneration for this position will be paid at Grade 4
(dependent on level of experience and qualifications) of the
Local Government Employees Award and Loxton Waikerie
Council’s Enterprise Bargaining Agreement.

The primary role of Primary Industries and Regions SA (PIRSA) is to enable primary industries
and regions to continue to grow and innovate and take full advantage of future opportunities.
The Regional Support Officer – Irrigation will support the Regional Support Team Leader in the
promotion and management of SARMS (SA River Murray Sustainability) at the regional level
and in engaging effectively with industry across the various elements of the Program, with a
focus on irrigation design and implementation requirements. This position will play a lead role
in the promotion of the Program to encourage uptake; in supporting clients to understand the
requirements of the application processes; in providing guidance in relation to the types of activities
that could be considered for funding; and in monitoring the compliance of successful applicants
throughout the life of the Program with a particular focus on appropriate design and installation of
irrigation systems. The Regional Support Officer – Irrigation reports to the Regional Support Team
Leader. The position also: works closely with the Senior Communications Officer, SARMS to promote
the Program at the regional level; works collaboratively with all SARMS team members and delivery
contractors; liaises and networks with PIRSA and other Government Agency staff and stakeholders
including irrigation industries and community groups as required, in particular the irrigation design
and installation sector; and seeks achievement of results through a strong team approach to
provision of services.
Special Conditions: Some out-of-hours work may be required. Intra and interstate travel,
overnight stays and frequent out-of-hours work may be required. The incumbent may be required to
undertake training and be willing to participate in emergency preparedness and response activities
required by government agencies.
