THE Rotary Club of Waikerie is hosting
its annual Hat Day barbecue event tomorrow
from 11am to 2pm.
Sausage sizzles will be held outside ANZ Bank
and Woolworths in support of Australian Rotary

‘Hogs’ a hit with locals
WAIKERIE was flooded with a sea of
Harley Davidson motorcycles as it hosted
the South Australian chapter of the Harley
Owners Group (HOG) rally over the weekend.
More than 250 motorcycles converged on
Waikerie for the group’s annual rally, which
included a show ‘n’ shine event and thunder run
The rally was officially opened by District Council
of Loxton Waikerie Mayor Leon Stasinowsky at the
Waikerie Football Club on Friday night.
State HOG co-ordinator Bob Woodfull said the
weekend-long event was a success.
“The Waikerie community were absolutely
brilliant,” he said.
“It was perfect weather for the rally, and we had
great time in Waikerie.
“Henry (Crawford) from the football club was
so accommodating to us, and their kitchen staff
“Some of the feedback we received from our
members was that they were amazed with the effort
that the Waikerie community put in.
“I also heard a few reports from businesses
saying they had strong trading.”
Mr Woodfull said the rally was one of the biggest

“The weekend went off without a hitch,” he said.
“Waikerie has certainly left an impact on us, and
we hope we left an impact on Waikerie.
“We would be happy to come back at any time.
“We have previously been in Berri in 2005 and
Renmark in 2009, but this has been the biggest one

including Queensland, Tasmania, Western

The weekend included visits to Barmera,
Loxton and to event sponsors Caudo Vineyard and
IAN Crannaford won best in show with his tricycle at
the event’s show ’n’ shine.

run ride through Waikerie during the HOG rally over
